1964 Dodge Custom 880 convertible

Plans include the following : 413 cubic inch V-8, Edelbrock 600 cfm 4 bbl carb, 727 automatic transmission with manual shift valve, Mag wheels, power disk brakes, dual exhaust, power windows, power bucket seats, power steering

In the beginning the 880 Custom convertible was bought from past club members Dick & Joanna Boyd. They were moving to Las Vegas and didn't want a car without AC. Being a person who admires unusual Land Yachts the 880 became our 3rd club car. I was a driver but needed some work. We drove it for one season then decided to put it away as a future restoration project.

We decided to take the car to Florida . The warm weather offers lots of year round cruising and we missed having a classic cruiser. We enlisted "Smitty" from the New Jersey Wanderers who along with his wife Marie are now retired and living in New Smyrna Beach, FL. about 10 miles away from us is Port Orange. Anyone who knows Smitty and seen his work knows that we put the car in good hands. First up was the take down phase. The car was stripped of all chrome, interior, drive train, and front clip. Work is now in progress. Mid January 2009.

Sheet metal repair work is extensive. The doors, front fenders, and hood are done. Rocker panels and rear quarters are next. You can see that Smitty has his work cut out for him. Early March 2009.
